How to use the result

What the Steam library value calculator checks

The Steam library value calculator reads public owned-game data from a Steam profile and combines it with Steam Store app details where pricing is available. It estimates current store value, full-price value before discounts, priced game coverage, total playtime, free games, and the highest-value games in the public library.

This is a broader Steam account value checker than an inventory calculator. It does not value skins, trading cards, wallet balance, badges, private purchases, or off-platform resale value. It focuses on public owned-game data and public Steam Store prices so the result is transparent and reproducible.

  • Supports SteamID64 and public Steam profile URLs.
  • Requires the server-side STEAM_WEB_API_KEY because owned-game data comes from Steam Web API.
  • Prices the most-played games first to keep large libraries responsive.
  • Shows warnings when a library is private, unpriced, or too large for full store-price coverage.

How Steam account value differs from Steam library value

A Steam library value estimate is not a recommendation to sell an account and is not a guaranteed resale price. Steam accounts, regional pricing, bundles, free promotions, removed games, family sharing, gifts, and discounts can all make a library's practical value different from the sum of current store prices.

Use the result as a quick way to understand the public game collection, not as a financial appraisal. For accounts with valuable CS2, Dota 2, TF2, Rust, PUBG, or other Steam inventories, use the dedicated inventory value pages as separate checks because owned games and marketable items are different value surfaces.

What the Steam library estimate includes

The calculator totals current Steam Store prices that are available for games in a public library. It also reports missing prices, privacy limitations, and large-library coverage so the estimate is not presented as a guaranteed account value.

Frequently asked questions

Does this work on private Steam libraries?

No. Steam only returns owned games when the profile privacy settings expose that library data publicly.

Why is the value an estimate?

Steam Store prices, discounts, bundles, removed games, regional pricing, and unpriced apps can all change the practical value.

Does this require users to log in with Steam?

No. The user pastes a public Steam profile or SteamID64. The server uses the configured Steam Web API key.
